Bars

Wherever the day’s activities take you, there’s no better place for regrouping and revitalizing the appetite than in one of our two bars – the lovely, cool Aqua Bar or Brownie’s Beachside Bar. Here you’ll find classic cocktails, perfectly prepared, as well as island specialties. Visitors should certainly sample a Rum Swizzle or Dark ‘n Stormy before catching their flight home.

The bars open 7 days a week at 12 noon.

Bermuda Rum Swizzle

The infamous Rum Swizzle was born during Prohibition as a knock-on effect created a shortage of alcohol on the island. Eager to preserve what little stash they had, Bermudians mixed all available rums together in gallon bottles and secretly buried them out of the sight of neighbors. The bottles were retrieved from time to time, mixed with a few other key ingredients and the Swizzle was born. Known to put a dip in your hip and a glide in your stride, the recipe has changed a bit over the years, and locals still serve them with pride.
